Proudly rooted in Ashland, Oregon, I am a true local, having journeyed through SOU preschool, Bellview Elementary, and proudly donned the AHS Grizzly spirit. Raised in a nurturing family, my late father, Dave Kitchell, and my mother, Tricia, dedicated over 25 years each to teaching in the Rogue Valley. Their commitment to education and community has profoundly influenced my own path.

Following my graduation from AHS, I pursued my academic endeavors at the University of Oregon, earning a degree in General Science with a focus on Organic Chemistry and Anatomy. Summers spent in my uncle’s dental office sparked my passion for dentistry, as I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of a healthy smile.

After completing my dental education at the Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Dentistry, I returned to the Rogue Valley to practice alongside my uncle, Dan Jackson. Today, I carry on his legacy with pride, providing compassionate care and brightening smiles in our community.

Beyond dentistry, my heart belongs to my family. I am blessed with two beautiful daughters, Kamryn and Colette, aged 5 and 2 respectively, who fill my days with laughter and love sprinkled with a little chaos. My wife, Kate, is my rock and partner in all endeavors. I enjoy watching the Oregon Ducks, SOU and Ashland Grizzly sports, along with the wonders of southern Oregon outdoors.

Having grown up in Hawai‘i, my first time leaving the island for any significant amount of time was for dental school at OHSU in Portland, OR. It was there that I met and formed a close friendship with Dr. Kitchell. I practiced as a general dentist for one year after graduating dental school before deciding to pursue my aspiration to specialize in prosthodontics. I was lucky enough to get accepted to a handful of programs before deciding to attend the University of Tennessee. This program provided me with the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population with complex restorative needs, guided by exceptionally skilled specialists. Growing up in Arkansas, I attended the University of Arkansas, went on to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center before completing an advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) residency.

As a kid, I spent a lot of time in the dentist’s chair. I love the way dentistry combines art and science to transform smiles while building long lasting relationships. Before moving to Ashland, I served as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force. I have been practicing in southern Oregon since 2019 and am very excited to join the Ashland Dental Health family.
